DEVIANCE coming soon in early 2012
On behalf of the Dean of Faculty and the Head of the School for Health, Human Development and Community Studies, I would like to welcome you to the virtual home of the forthcoming inaugural Deviancy Conference .
2011 is a hugely significant year for Higher Education here at the University Centre, Grimsby, as it sees the opening of the new University Centre building. 2011 also marks the commencement of the BA Criminological Studies(subject to validation) here in Grimsby, replacing the FdA which has run successfully for a number of years. This conference has been organised as a celebration of both events, and it is hoped that contributors from around the UK and further afield, will make a significant contribution to the critical dialogue surrounding the role of the built environment in crime, deviance, decay, the devastation of community, and all matters pertaining to the contemporary urban situation.
This is a multidisciplinary conference, and the team invite submissions from all areas of academic study that fall within this field of research. The conference is open to seasoned academics, but also welcomes submissions from undergraduate and postgraduate students, and there is also a poster gallery area which will hopefully promote discussion and debate throughout the conference.
